Recently, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo provided some details about the MacBook Air, another Mac product expected to be updated later this year ,media macrumors reported .
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the 2022 MacBook Air will have a new form factor and more color options. Rumors have previously suggested that the new MacBook Air won’t feature a tapered design, with Apple preferring a MacBook Pro-style look.
It’s expected to be thinner, lighter, and available in color options similar to those of the 24-inch iMac, such as blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange, and purple. It’s also rumored to have off-white bezels and a matching off-white keyboard instead of black.
Ming-Chi Kuo said the MacBook Air will have an M1 chip, which doesn’t match any rumors we’ve heard about the machine so far.
Everything we’ve heard about the MacBook Air before suggests that the machine will use the newer M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and there are even signs of such a chip in macOS Monterey. Still, Ming-Chi Kuo has confirmed to MacRumors that he believes the next MacBook Air will still be the M1 chip, although he hinted that it could be a modified version of the existing M1.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that we can expect the MacBook Air to start mass production by the end of the second quarter of 2022 or the third quarter of this year.
