You will be able to Learn 15 Best OnePlus 6T Hidden Feature, Useful Tips, and Tricks. That You Must Check Out. Today we are here with Detail guide on OnePlus 6T features. As we all know, it’s not the hardware specs alone that define a phone. The software also plays an important role in making it a complete experience.
1. Enable On-Screen Navigation Gestures
The OnePlus 6T not only comes with the iPhone X-like notch, but it also comes with iPhone X-like on-screen navigation gestures. As the name suggests, you can navigate through the UI by using different gestures on the screen instead of using the on-screen navigation buttons.
To enable on-screen navigation gestures, head over to the Settings > Buttons > Navigation bar & gesturesmenu and then select the ‘Navigation gestures’ option. Once you do that, you will see a demo below that option showing how to use the navigation gestures.
2. Enable Quick Search
A simple swipe up from the home screen opens the App Drawer. If you want the gesture to open App Search and to trigger keyboard in one go, you can enable Quick Search. This way you can get to apps that you are looking for in no time.
To do so, open the app drawer. Now tap the menu icon on the corner and select ‘enable quick search’. We’d have liked the option to access phone settings and contacts through quick search as well, but for now, you can only use it to search through apps on phone or on play store.
3. Customize Gestures
The OnePlus 6T, like its predecessor OnePlus 5 (and the mid-cycle refresh OnePlus 5T), comes with Gestures. With these gestures, you can perform different actions like taking a screenshot, opening the camera, or, opening any app that you want.
There are two types of gestures – System gestures and Screen off gestures. ‘System gestures’ let you take a screenshot by swiping three fingers on the screen, and, flipping the phone over to mute an incoming call.
Speaking of ‘Screen off gestures’, you can draw the letters O, V, S, M, and W while the screen is off to either open the camera, record a video, turn on a flashlight, or open the Shelf. Or, you can open any of the apps installed on your smartphone.
You can head over to the Settings > Gestures menu to enable these gestures.
4. Use Gaming Mode to avoid interruptions
Gaming mode is one of the few new software features OnePlus has added to Oxygen OS with the 6t. The OnePlus 6T is an excellent phone for gaming and the new gaming mode gives you some useful options to avoid interruptions.
The gaming mode can be used to route all calls via speakers, to turn off pop-up notifications while gaming, to keeps brightness unchanged, to channel data to gaming app on a priority basis, and also offers a gaming battery saver option. This is something hardcore gamers will appreciate.
Go to settings>> Advanced>> Gaming Mode.
5. Turn auto call recording Off/ On on OnePlus 6T
OnePlus 6T has a very elaborate call recorder built in. You can turn auto call recording on for all calls, for specific contact or for favorite contacts.
In fact, you can access the option to turn on auto call recording from the menu that pops up when you ring a contact. You cannot, however, turn it off the same way.
To turn call recording off on OnePlus 6T, open the Phone app. Click on the triple dot menu and select setting. You will see ‘Call record’ option at the top. From here, you can switch off Auto call recording.
6. Use Dual apps or Parallel apps
OnePlus 6T also has the option to turn on dual Apps on the phone. Which is to say, you can have two WhatsApp, two Facebook, and so on to run different accounts of each on the same phone.
To access parallel apps, just go to settings>>Apps>> Parallel apps. Now turn the feature on for the required app.
7. Customize LED notification Color
The OnePlus 6T notch also makes room for the notification LED. You can also decide the color that LED glows for different notifications, and also decide on what apps LED notifications would work.
8. Double-tap to wake the device
One of our favorite features on OnePlus smartphones has been the ‘double-tap to wake’ gesture. You simply have to double-tap on the phone’s screen (when it’s turned off, of course) and the device wakes up. Well, this feature is present on the OnePlus 6T as well. However, it may not be enabled by default.
9. Hide Navigation Bar
The OnePlus 6T boasts a 6.28-inch Full-HD+ Super AMOLED display that has an aspect ratio of 19:9. Well, this means the users get a lot of screen real estate, which is good for video watching, playing games or reading. However, if you aren’t using navigation gestures to navigate around the UI of this smartphone, then it means you are using the buttons on the navigation bar to navigate.
However, at times, there are chances that you mistakenly press any button on the navigation bar that takes you to a different screen. Well, to avoid this, you can hide the navigation bar. Head over to Settings > Buttons > Navigation bar & gestures menu and select the ‘Hide navigation bar’ option.
10. Manage the OnePlus 6T Display – Notch, colors, Fonts, and more.
The first thing you should do after you unbox your OnePlus 6T is to tune its display (Settings>> Display).
Choose color profile – The default colors on the screen lean towards cold. We’d advise you to switch to sRGB or DCI –P3 color mode. If it feels too yellowish, just give it a couple of hours and you will feel right at home. These presets are more accurate and – more importantly – they are lighter on your eyes.
11. Customize On-Screen Navigation Buttons
Unlike the OnePlus 5 that came with capacitive navigation buttons, the OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6 like the OnePlus 5T, only comes with on-screen navigation buttons. Reason? Well, reduced bottom bezel. However, just like OnePlus 5, you can customize the navigation buttons on OnePlus 6 And OnePlus 6T to perform different actions and not be restricted only to going back, going home and opening a recent apps screen.
To customize the on-screen navigation buttons, head over to the Settings > Buttons menu, and from there, you will be able to customize the long-press and double-tap action of the back, home and recent buttons. You can check out the customization actions in the image above.
12. Show Battery Percentage and Network Speed in Status Bar
Thanks to the notch on the OnePlus 6T, unlike previous OnePlus smartphones, you couldn’t see the battery percentage in Status Bar without swiping down the quick settings menu.
To display battery percentage in Status Bar, head over to the Settings > Status bar menu and tap on the ‘Battery style’ option. By default, the battery indicator style will be set to ‘Battery bar’. But, you can tap on ‘Battery percentage’ to display the battery percentage in Status Bar.
13. Smart Boost
If you followed the OnePlus 6T launch, you must know about the Smart Boost feature. This cool feature meant for game lovers and power users boosts the performance of the device by about 20%.
14. Change The Fingerprint Sensor Animatoin
Sure, the default screen animation for the in-display fingerprint sensor is stunning. But if you’d rather have a toned-down animation, you can change that easily.
For that, go to Security & lock screen > Fingerprints > Fingerprint animation effect, and choose the one you like. I adore the Stripe effect animation the most
15. Enable Face Unlock
With OnePlus 5T, OnePlus introduced the Face Unlock feature that uses face recognition to unlock the smartphone. This feature got a lot of attention because it’s way faster (but not as secure) than Apple’s Face ID on the iPhone X. And owing to popular demand, OnePlus even rolled out the Face Unlock to older OnePlus smartphones like the OnePlus 3, 3T and 5. However, as one would expect, the Face Unlock made its way to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T as well.
To enable Face Unlock, head over to the Settings > Security & lock screen > Face Unlock menu and follow the instructions.
16. Keep apps hidden
Hidden Space was introduced along with the OnePlus 6 to keep apps hidden from the app drawer. To access Hidden Space, open the app drawer and slide gently from the left edge. To add apps, tap on the Plus icon at the top-right corner.
