Samsung Galaxy Note 10 – Turn On These 10 Settings Before It’s Too Late

Welcome to the home of the best How-to guides for your Samsung Galaxy needs. In today’s article, We will go over 10 Settings you should enable on your Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus right now before it’s too late.
#1. Touch Sensitivity
We are assuming a lot of you guys are going to be installing some kind of screen protector on your devices and as you know most of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 comes with a pre-installed screen protector so if you have that or if you’re going to install a screen protector make sure you go to Settings> Display> Touch sensitivity, tap to enable it. This is going to increase the touch sensitivity of the screen for use with screen protectors so your fingers are better recognized as you interact with your phone.
#2. Does your phone actually lock when it turn off?
The next setting you need to enable is very crucial security setting that a lot of people simply forget about and don’t even think about so go to Settings> Lock Screen> Secure Lock Settings> Enter your regular pin then once you do that on the top there’s two options you need to enable immediately.
- Lock automatically
- Lock instantly with power key
Lock automatically if you tap on it by default is at 5 or 15 seconds alright that shouldn’t be the case it should be at immediately so if it was at 15 seconds for example and if the screen turns off the phone doesn’t actually lock for 15 seconds so you want to make sure it locks immediately as soon as the screen time outs and turns off and the other thing is when you press the power button again the screen doesn’t lock right away. It is active for a couple of seconds so enable Lock instantly with power key.
#3. Protect yourself from losing your phone
If you’re outside and id you actually lose your phone so what you want to make sure is you enable the find My mobile feature. So you do want to go the Settings> biometrics and security> and then you want to scroll down to Find my mobile> Tap on it and make sure this enable you do have a Samsung Account that is linked to this option and then you want to enable Remote controls and Google location service. So if you lost your mobile then go to this (https://findmymobiile.samsung.com) website and log in your Samsung Account and then Remotely control and locate the exact location of your smartphone.
#4. Enable Auto Optimize and Auto Restart
Go into settings> Device care> Tap on tree dots on top right corner> Auto optimization> tap on to enable it. OPtimize your phone automatically once a day. Background apps will be closed but not your most recently used apps, and unnecessary files will be deleted. This won’t affect your personal data.
In device care, tap on three dots and go into Auto restart. So it is essential to restart android smartphones at least once a week. You can select a particular day for restart your smartphone and also select the time to restart your phone.
#5. Hide Suggested Apps
Suggested Apps has been recently added to Samsung Galaxies running on Android 9.0 and One UI. It is perfect for opening up 4 of your most recently opened apps on the recents screen. If you would like to disable this feature, follow these simple 5 easy steps.
- Tap on the Recent Button to view your Recent Screen
- Tap the 3 dots at the top right
- Select Settings
- Turn Toggle Suggested Apps Off.
- View Recent Screen without Suggested Apps

#6. Secure your password while typing
Another very important setting has to do with your password so if you go to any website and if you log in and type your password, every time you type in your password you can see the letters show up in that password box, So somebody’s looking at the password field they can see exactly what you’re typing and might even memorize the password that you have.
How to Disable
- Go to settings
- Biometrics and security
- Other settings
- Make Password visible
- Tap on to disable it.
#7. Battery Management
- Go to settings
- Then Device care
- And tap on Battery
- Tap on 3 dots top right corner
- And into the settings
- Enable Adaptive battery
This basically limits the battery usage for apps that you do not use often, many times those apps run in the background and they waste battery. And also enable optimize settings.
#8. Make face recognition more secure
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus have ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors, which means the sensors sit under the glass on the front of the screen. These phones, however, also have another way to unlock the phone — facial recognition. It’s not a secure tool, though. It’s purely for convenience, and to unlock your phone from the lock screen. So How to make face recognition more secure in Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus?
By default, Samsung enables Faster recognition so the technology reacts quickly, but this is to the detriment of security — the facial recognition tech can be fooled with just a photograph of your face. Disable this, and it will be a little tougher to spoof the camera, but it still won’t be anywhere close to being as secure as Apple’s Face ID.con
- First, go to Settings
- Then Biometrics and security
- Now Select Face recognition (if you’ve already set it up)
- And now toggle off Faster recognition.
- Now the tech won’t be as easy to fool and it will only take a few milliseconds longer, but remember it’s still not the most secure biometric option on these phones.
