OnePlus finally fixes the GCam issues on the OnePlus 9 Series

Published

on

OnePlus has released a new build of the proprietary OxygenOS 12 shell. It is noteworthy that the patch includes a bug fix on the OnePlus 9 and the OnePlus 9 Pro, which the company does not mention in the software update log.

A little over a month ago, with the release of OxygenOS 12, the Google Camera application began to work incorrectly on OnePlus 9 series smartphones. Users noticed that GCam does not have access to additional sensors on the main camera, but only to the main and selfie module. This limitation has caused a flurry of backlash on social media and forums from OnePlus 9 owners who use the app to improve their smartphone shooting results.

The company immediately acknowledged the problem and promised to fix it with the next software update. As it turned out, the bug was fixed in the OxygenOS 12 (C.44) build, although the company did not indicate this in the changelog. Once the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro are updated, owners will be able to easily switch between the main, ultra-wide, and tele cameras in the GCam app.
