#1. Parallel Downloading ( Desktop or Mobile )

The first up I’m pretty sure you’ve all faced errors while downloading large files in Chrome right? I know it’s super annoying. When there’s setting in Chrome that does not necessarily fix this issue but it does accelerate downloads in Chrome.

This setting is available in the Chrome Flags Page if you want to enable this-

  • Open Chrome in your Desktop or Mobile
  • And type in search bar Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for Parallel Downloading
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.

Once you done that it’s allows to create three Parallel jobs to download a file that’s accelerating the download speed.

I personally have noticed slightly faster-downloading speeds after enabling this setting especially when downloading large files so this is a pretty handy setting and the great thing is Parallel Downloading is available for Desktop and Mobile so do enable it.

#2 Automatic Tap Discarding ( Desktop or Mobile )

We all know that Chrome is a resource hog, especially when you open up a lot of tabs and some people can’t help it like me I open up a lot of tabs in my Chrome but, this is where another chrome setting comes in really handy.

  • Search Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for Automatic Tab Discarding
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.

#3. DuckDuckGO Over Google ( Desktop or Mobile )

If you’re someone who has always wanted to use a more privacy friendly search engine instead of Google in Chrome well there is good news for you.

Now you have the option to choose DuckDuckGo as your default search engine Chrome.

  • Open Chrome in your Desktop or Mobile
  • Tap on three dots in the top right corner
  • Then choose Settings
  • You will find the search engine option
  • Tap on it and change your default search engine DuckDuckGo

#4. Drive Files Via Omnibox ( Desktop or Mobile )

The Omnibox aka the address bar in Chrome is one of the most powerful features of Chrome. It has so many features and it’s only getting better, there’s now an option to access files on Drive where the Omnibox.

You can search for files via owner name like this

For example- Owner: Google, Type: Doc

  • Open Chrome in your Desktop or Mobile
  • And type in search bar Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for Omnibox Google Drive Document Suggestions
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.

Once you enable it you should be able to search for drive files through Omnibox.

#5. Shortcuts for Extensions (Desktop)

There are a lot of extensions on the Chrome Web Store that really enhanced the Chrome experience.

If you could access these extensions using a keyboard shortcuts.

  • Open Chrome in your Desktop or Mobile
  • Tap on three dots in the top right corner
  • Then choose More tools
  • Tap on Extensions
  • In Extensions page click on three lines on the top left corner
  • And Go to Keyboard shortcuts
  • Now you assign keyboard shortcuts to your extensions.

#6. Chrome Duet (Android Mobile)

This feature is Chrome Android users, so we all know that accessing the address bar, tab’s button, menu button from the top bar in Chrome Mobile is so tough.

  • Open Chrome in your Mobile
  • And type in search bar Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for Chrome Duet
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.

Now you will see a new bar at the bottom which brings everything you need there’s the home button, share, search, resents tab button and the three dot menu button.

#7. New Gestures ( Mobile )

I love the touchpad gestures to go back and forward the Chrome on Windows or Mac and it’s something I’ve wanted in chrome mobile.

  • Open Chrome in your Mobile
  • And type in search bar Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for History Navigation With Gestures
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.

Once that you can just swipe right from the center to go back and swipe left to go forward.

#8. Functional Tap Switcher (Mobile)

Chrome has had different tabs such as there’s the usual tab switcher and there’s this horizontal tabs which are available to chrome flags but if you want a more functional tab switcher there’s the accessibility tab switcher.

  • Open Chrome in your Mobile
  • And type in search bar Chrome://Flags
  • Once you’re in the Chrome Flag page just search for Accessibility Tab Switcher
  • Now Enable it and Relaunch Chrome.
