The Apple App Store and official website open the Ukraine rescue area, and the proceeds will be donated directly to UNICEF
According to 9to5 Mac report, Apple has made it easier to support Ukraine. Apple now has a banner at the top of its website with a donation button that directs users to the Apple Music or iTunes app. Users can even donate by tapping a banner in the App Store or the Apple News app.
Apple has an option to donate between $5 and $200, with all proceeds going directly to the U.S. office of UNICEF, which helps families affected by the war in Ukraine. Donations are made through the user’s Apple ID and can use any of the payment methods on the account.
This is one of several recent actions Apple has taken to defend Ukraine. Earlier this week, Tim Cook emailed employees that Apple would match their donations to Ukraine on a 2:1 basis. The email also said that Apple is working with partners to assess what else they can do to help.
Apple has stopped sales of products in Russia and stopped exporting to Russian sales channels. It also removed two major apps, RT and Sputnik, from the international App Store. However, both apps are still available for download on the Russian App Store.
According to internal sources in the mobile phone industry, a certain part of Europe has been fined 5 million euros per week since New Year’s Day this year because Apple has been failing to comply with relevant regulations. To a fine of 45 million euros, the equivalent of RMB has exceeded 300 million yuan!
