Rumor: The top iPad Pro only has a MiniLED screen

Published

on

Display analyst Ross Young said on Twitter today that the refreshed 11-inch iPad Pro, expected sometime this year, can no longer count on a mini-LED display like its larger 12.9-inch sibling.

Earlier rumors suggested that Apple would expand this newer display technology to a smaller 11-inch form factor after mini-LED was only available for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2021. That’s no longer expected this year, Yang said in a tweet, noting that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro “did very well” and that Apple didn’t need to bring mini-LED to a smaller form factor.

If the 11-inch iPad Pro gets a mini-LED display, it will make the two iPad Pro sizes more equal, potentially reducing the appeal of the significantly larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Both iPad sizes share the same M1 Apple chip, camera and design, with display technology and battery capacity being the only differences. Apple is planning to update the iPad Pro sometime this year, and rumors are a little vague about what to expect.

Rumors suggested the iPad Pro would support reverse wireless charging for devices like the iPhone , Apple Watch, and AirPods, but subsequent reports revealed the problems Apple faced in developing the feature.

Apple originally wanted to develop a glass back on the iPad Pro, but it may opt to replace wireless charging with a large glass Apple logo. Regarding performance, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that the new iPad Pro running iPadOS will likely feature the M2 Apple silicon chip, which is even more powerful than the M1 chip found in the current iPad Pro and the new fifth-generation iPad Air.

According to internal sources in the mobile phone industry, a certain part of Europe has been fined 5 million euros per week since New Year’s Day this year because Apple has been failing to comply with relevant regulations. To a fine of 45 million euros, the equivalent of RMB has exceeded 300 million yuan!

The fine, which lasted more than two months, was due to the fact that Apple charged up to 30% of the commission in the payment system, which is also known as the exorbitant “Apple tax”. Many software developers in Europe have filed lawsuits against Apple many times before, and began to sue Apple in the name of “anti-monopoly” in the Apple Store.

Apple has drafted an agreement with the relevant departments this week to try to stop the departure, but it cannot stop the pace of continuing to be fined. Once the cumulative fine reaches 50 million euros, the weekly fine will be higher.

The world that Steve Jobs laid down… don’t destroy it in the hands of this generation.

It is reported that the reason why Apple wants to stop the Apple Watch Series 3 has a lot to do with the hardware configuration that is gradually unable to keep up with the times.

Although at present, Apple Watch Series 3 still supports the latest WatchOS 8 system, but there have been hardware problems such as insufficient storage space, which means that it will be difficult to run the WatchOS 9 system that will be launched later.

In addition, the design of Apple Watch Series 3 has gradually failed to keep up with the times. In the Apple Watch product line, it is the last product with a large bezel instead of a full-screen design.

In terms of time, with the retirement of the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple will also usher in the eighth product in the series.
