Analyst: Apple Pro Display XDR will be replaced in June

Published

on

According to respected display analyst Ross Young, Apple plans to launch a “professional” version of its new studio monitor this June that will measure 2.7 inches with mini LEDs and ProMotion.

In a tweet, Yang said he still expects Apple to release a 27-inch mini LED display in June, and has confirmed such plans with sources within Apple’s supply chain. Yang had previously said the iMac Pro would launch as early as the summer of 2022, but that is no longer believed to be the case.

Yang explained that his sources were unaware of the separation between the iMac, Mac Studio and Studio Display, adding confusion to Apple’s exact plans.

This confusion may come from the fact that the Studio Display, and possibly the Studio Display Pro, has a webcam and a built-in Apple chip that makes it look like an iMac, but it’s not. It now appears that earlier rumors of an iMac Pro in June were not referring to an actual iMac, but a Pro version of the Studio Display.

Today’s “Studio Display Pro” rumors also add more clarity to information shared by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said this week that the “iMac Pro” won’t launch until 2023. On the other hand, Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted today that Apple may not release any mini-LED devices this year due to cost issues, so it remains to be seen what exactly Apple has plans around WWDC in June.

At this week’s event, Apple previewed the Apple silicon Mac Pro, hinting that it might not be that far off. Specifically, when it came to the transition of the entire Mac lineup to Apple silicon, Apple senior vice president of hardware engineering John Turners said, “There’s one more product to do. Mac Pro,” before adding, “That’s another. a day’s work”.

Yang expects the Studio Display Pro to launch alongside the Apple silicon Mac Pro in June, potentially replacing the Pro Display XDR in Apple’s display lineup.

Adding to the confusion over Apple’s plans, Apple discontinued the Intel-based 27-inch iMac this week, casting doubt on whether a larger iMac would join the 2.4-inch in Apple’s lineup . For now, customers looking to get a large all-in-one desktop computer from Apple seem to have to wait, or buy a 27-inch Studio Display and pair it with a Mac.

Apple was fined 300 million yuan! Another big issue with “taxes”

According to internal sources in the mobile phone industry, a certain part of Europe has been fined 5 million euros per week since New Year’s Day this year because Apple has been failing to comply with relevant regulations. To a fine of 45 million euros, the equivalent of RMB has exceeded 300 million yuan!

The fine, which lasted more than two months, was due to the fact that Apple charged up to 30% of the commission in the payment system, which is also known as the exorbitant “Apple tax”. Many software developers in Europe have filed lawsuits against Apple many times before, and began to sue Apple in the name of “anti-monopoly” in the Apple Store.

Apple has drafted an agreement with the relevant departments this week to try to stop the departure, but it cannot stop the pace of continuing to be fined. Once the cumulative fine reaches 50 million euros, the weekly fine will be higher.

The world that Steve Jobs laid down… don’t destroy it in the hands of this generation.

In 2017, Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 3. As the third-generation work of the series, it has a narrower frame and longer battery life than its predecessors, and has become a “dream work” for many users.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s revelations, Apple will officially discontinue the Apple Watch Series 3 in the third quarter of this year.

It is reported that the reason why Apple wants to stop the Apple Watch Series 3 has a lot to do with the hardware configuration that is gradually unable to keep up with the times.

Although at present, Apple Watch Series 3 still supports the latest WatchOS 8 system, but there have been hardware problems such as insufficient storage space, which means that it will be difficult to run the WatchOS 9 system that will be launched later.

In addition, the design of Apple Watch Series 3 has gradually failed to keep up with the times. In the Apple Watch product line, it is the last product with a large bezel instead of a full-screen design.

In terms of time, with the retirement of the Apple Watch Series 3, Apple will also usher in the eighth product in the series.
