15 Things All Snapchat Users Should Know : Hidden Features

You will be able to Learn 15 Things All Snapchat Users Should Know. That You Must Check Out. Today we are here with Detail guide on Snapchat.

Even for long-time users, Snapchat can be confusing. This is an app that’s far from intuitive, with a feature list that seems to change with every update. It’s no wonder you’re continually left feeling like you’re missing out on something.

So, what are some things that all Snapchat users should know? Here are 15 pointers for old heads and newbies alike.

 1. How do you access Snap Map?

As soon as you launch Snapchat on your smartphone, the first thing you see is the camera window. To enter Snap Map, you need to pinch the screen—just like you would pinch to zoom out of a picture. The camera window then fades into an interactive global map and shows you the location of your friends. They pop up on the map as bitmojis, their cartoon avatars. When you tap on a bitmoji, Snap Map gives you the option of chatting with the friend. You can also use the search bar on the top to find a friend on the map. The “Friends on the map” feature gives you the list of friends who are sharing their location.

2. You have a Snapcode

A little ghost icon with your photo in it can be shared to get new followers. It’s called a Snapcode. Just have a friend take a snap of your Snapcode icon and the app will give them the option to add you.

 3. A Snapchat Streak

A Snapchat streak—officially called a Snapstreak—is when you and a friend exchange at least one snap per day for several consecutive days.

When you complete five days, you’ll see a fire emoji. When you complete 100 days, you will see the 100 emoji. There also a fabled mountain emoji for exceptionally long streaks, but no one is really sure if it exists. Finally, there’s an hourglass emoji which you’ll see if your streak is about to end.

4. Customizable privacy settings

When you enter Snap Map for the first time, it prompts you with three location options: Only Me (Ghost Mode), My Friends or Select Friends. As Snapchat mentions in its blog—“you decide if you want to share your location with friends, or simply keep it to yourself with Ghost Mode.” When the Ghost Mode is enabled, your location will not be visible. In the My Friends option, all your contacts who are using Snapchat will be able to see your real-time location. The last option lets you choose if you want only specific friends to know your location. So privacy control is in the user’s hands.

5. Snapcodes can send people to your site

You can also customize a Snapcode for your website, Facebook page or anything else. Tap the ghost icon in the upper left of the camera screen, then go to Settings > Snapcode > Create Snapcode. Add the address to your website and tap Create. The app will create an icon that will link directly to your site.

6. Verified Accounts Exist on Snapchat

Did you know Snapchat has a form of verified accounts like Twitter and Facebook? Well-known public figures from the worlds of sports, entertainment, politics, and music have verified Snapchat profiles.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, instead of using a tick, Snapchat uses emojis to show that a certain user is legitimate. Each person is free to pick their own emoji. For example, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton uses a checkered flag and former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger uses the bicep emoji.

 7. Your Personal Snapchat URL

With its Snapcodes, Snapchat popularized the idea of using QR codes as a way to connect with people and engage with a platform.

They proved to be so successful that, unlike every other social media network, Snapchat never bothered to add a traditional URL address for users.

8. Collaborate with your friends

Have a Snapchat Story party with your friends. To get started, swipe right from the camera screen and tap on the + icon in the upper right. Then, name your Story and tap Who can add? From there, choose which of your friends can participate. Toggle on Geofence if you want your friends to add to the Story only when they’re nearby. When you’re done, click Create Story. The Story disappears in 24 hours unless others add to it.

 9. Get a Snapchat Trophy

Snapchat trophies are a bit like Reddit karma. On the one hand, it’s just meaningless virtual kudos; on the other, everyone wants a huge score.

The trophies don’t have any practical usage—they’re just there for a bit of fun. As such, many people overlook their existence.

But what do all the Snapchat trophies mean? After all, there are more than 50 trophies to collect.

10. You can see if people are stealing your pics

Social media is a shady place where people take screenshots of your photos and then share them with others or save them on their phones. Snapchat lets you know when someone is being sneaky, though. Tap on the three dots icon beside your Story on the Stories screen. An icon with an arrow beside it lets you know if someone took a screenshot. Snapchat will also send you a notification as soon as it happens.

11. Don’t miss out on hidden filters

If you turn on your location, you can access extra filters that are specific to your region called geofilters. When you turn on your filters capability, you’ll then be prompted to turn on your location. Just tap Enable Location and you’re good to go.

12. Boost Your Snapchat Score

Accumulating Snapchat trophies isn’t the only means of achieving God-like status on the app. You can also rack up your Snapchat score.

Once again, the process behind boosting your Snapchat score is somewhat murky. There’s no official documentation on the matter, but we think these actions are the ones most likely to get your score moving in the right direction:

To use a sticker, take a photo, tap on the icon on the right that looks like a notepad and choose your sticker by tapping on it. You can drag the sticker to wherever you want it on the image.

Add snaps (either videos or pictures) to your story by pressing the square button in the center-left of your screen and selecting Add.
